| Railway Station The dream symbol of a station always indicates
an alteration in the dreamer's spiritual situation in life.
The various details, just as in a real-life railway stations, are
important for the interpretation; we can arrive too late, or get
on the wrong train.  The station can also unexpectedly be that
of an unfamiliar town.  In this case, the station represents
an impersonal, more or less fateful place.  The circumstances
in life which force an alteration are often represented in the dream
by the figure of the stationmaster or the station guard. |

          | Rat As a dream animal, the rat indicates unfavorable
and dangerous situations. The dreamer may have unproductive, gnawing
doubts which stand in the way of a positive attitude to life.
But the rat can also be the dream's way of providing early warning
of serious and dangerous physical illness. |

          | Raven, crow Because of its intelligence, the raven
was seen as a bird of witchcraft or even sometimes as a bird of
the devil - hence its proverbial connotations of bad luck.
Experience has shown that a dream raven signifies thoughts of an
              unhappy nature. |

          | Riding In a dream, riding can have a sexual significance.
But it is the image of a drive or instinct which has been overcome
and tamed.  If the horse shies, bolts with the rider or refuses
to move form the spot, the dream is giving symbolic indications
              of corresponding neurotic disorders. |

          | River The dream landscape often contains images
of rivers and currents.  In general, they can be seen as bearers
of psychic energy.  A journey on them by boat or ship refers
to the journey of life.  If torrential streams or overflowing
rivers present obstacles to the dreamer, then they represent obstacles
arising form a state of unawareness. |

          | Road, path Roads or paths in dreams can take many
forms.  Generally, they are a symbolic expression of the dreamer's
path through life.  Crossroads and forks symbolize a necessary
decision. The nature, condition and direction of the roads and paths
are indications of the dreamer's present situation. |

          | Rocket, Spaceship A journey in a spaceship represents total
separation form nature and from the earth.  In a dream, the
rocket signifies a similar dangerous situation, which can be as
extreme as suicidal tendencies.  In the case of the contemporary
younger generation, the rocket also occurs as a sexual symbol.
The danger from exploding projectiles should always be taken into
account.  This can be an image of the dangers of explosive,
              instinctive actions. |

          | Roof Very frequently, the action of a dream
takes place in a house.  The house symbolizes the abode of
the soul.  Dreams in which the roof or the attic play a part
refer to long-forgotten events, to matters which we have, so to
speak, stowed away in the attics of our minds.
